OFFICE OF THE SHERIFF
CAPTAIN JASON GOULD

Captain Jason Gould has served with the Office of Genesee County Sheriff for 23 years. Captain Gould has served as a Corrections Deputy, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Shift Commander.
Captain Gould currently serves as the Jail Administrator and has been licensed as a Paramedic for 30 years. Captain Gould has extensive background in all aspects of jail operations, administration, and institutional psychology. Captain Gould is Nationally Certified Corrections Executive as awarded by the National Institute for Jail Operations.
Captain Gould has helped develop and overseen the implementation of I.G.N.I.T.E. (Inmate Growth Naturally and Intentionally Through Education). Through I.G.N.I.T.E., the culture of the jail has improved for both the staff and inmates. By design, restoring value into the lives of those incarcerated will help reduce conflict inside the jail and restore hope for the individuals once released. I.G.N.I.T.E., which has been endorsed by the National Sheriffs Association, has served as an example and template for many other agencies from Minnesota, North Dakota, Virginia, North Carolina and Texas.
Captain Gould was awarded the Sheriff’s Lifesaving Award in 2003 and 2006. In 2008, Captain Gould was awarded the Sheriff Commendation.
