Captain Jason Gould has served the Office of Genesee County Sheriff for over 17 years with responsibilities spanning from Corrections Deputy to Paramedic, and rising to the rank of Captain and Jail Administrator.  The Genesee County Jail is constantly on the verge of capacity with an average of 700-850 inmates under its care, requiring the constant attention of the Jail Administrator.  Captain Gould has an extensive background in all aspects of jail operations; including a deep understanding of administration, the correctional system and institutional psychology.  Captain Gould has strived to be a leader, emphasizing and ensuring the well-being and just treatment of all who fall into the care of the Genesee County Jail.

Since being appointed to the rank of Captain, Gould has spearheaded an effort within the Corrections Division to progressively evolve into a state-of-the-art correctional facility.  This has included the implementation of new jail management software, automated inmate information line, video visitations, inmate email and bio-metrics software.  In 2016, Captain Gould oversaw the successful implementation of VINElink (Victim Information and Notification Everyday).  VINElink ensures that registered users are notified immediately upon the release or transfer of a prisoner.

Captain Gould was awarded the Sheriff's Lifesaving Award in 2003 and 2006.  In 2008, Captain Gould was awarded the Sheriff Commendation.
